So…how long were you planning to keep that VCR in the back of your closet? Were you waiting for an E-waste event where you can drink frozen mojitos? Well do I have news for you! Once again, we will be hosting our friends from the Lower East Side Ecology Center (LESEC) for an E-waste recycling event this Saturday, April 14th from 10-4pm.
The folks over at LESEC have been at this for years and will happily accept the following items to make sure they are disposed of properly: working and non-working computers, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, cables, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, cell phones and PDAs. Drop off of materials is free for residents, small businesses (up to 50 employees) and not-for-profits.
If you can’t make it to Habana Outpost this weekend, you can bring them to the e-waste warehouse, located at 469 President Street (at Nevins) to get them either reused or recycled in an environmentally sound way. The warehouse is run by the Lower East Side Ecology Center and is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 5pm, Wednesdays form 12noon to 7pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm For more information please call 718-858-8777 or visit www.lesecologycenter.org
