…by 2 full hours!
Yep, out with the old 12 to 10pm regime and in with the extended jam — 11am to 11pm. Delivery rolls until 10:30.
Consider your stomach set free – get hungry an hour earlier, stay hungry an hour later!

But even more importantly, as it finally looks winter wonderlandy out there (if you ignore the freezing cold, ankle-deep, gray and slushy street corners)…
Sean Meenan & the Habana family wish you a Feliz Navidad and a Happy New Year!

That’s right. Web Urbanist scouted out a handful of truly amazing bathrooms all around the world and little ole Habana Outpost made the cut! As most of you know, our toilets use recycled rainwater to flush (built by a program via our non-profit, the savvy USBK), saving thousands of gallons of water per week! But among the list of wacky bathrooms, ours was one of the more modest WC’s. Check out the rest of them here, and enjoy some more pics of these crazy toilets on the next page!

BlackBook Magazine named us one of the “Top 10 Frozen Cocktails” In NYC!

What they say:
“Enviro chic spin-off New Faces Soho café, save a buck on your frozen margarita by bicycling the blender yourself. Flaunt your street cred—shun plain Jane mango and strawberry for vaguely exotic guava. Best recycled-wood picnic table, solar-powered, parking lot drunk ever.”
Woo!

Last year’s opening party:

Did you know that we have a private basement lounge area called the Lowpost?
Did you know you can rent the space for events, like your kid’s birthday party, your own party, karaoke, a movie screening, fundraisers, and more?

If interested, please email press@ecoeatery.com with a complete event proposal.

Today, a class from the Urban Assembly Institute for Math and Science for Young Women came by today to get a Green Tour and have a little fun at Habana! The UAIMSYW (a mouthful!!) is a public elementary and high school in Brooklyn. These girls are participating in a summer program on urban ecology, and they stopped by for a tour and a recycled craft exercise.

So today is National Tequila Day … and what better place to celebrate it than your favorite neighborhood haunt, Habana Outpost, drinking our world-famous (and might I add POTENT) frozen margaritas!
It’s the weekend and all, but if you need some preventative measures for that morning “hangover” (it’s all in your head, by the way) … try out some of these ”cures” that may (or may not) help you out the next day (and keep reading for this weekend’s events) (more…)
